Barrafina Invita, one of our most anticipated London food events, will be hosting Spanish Michelin-star-chef Aitor López at Barrafina Adelaide Street this September.
López, the chef at one-Michelin-starred restaurant Citrus del Tancat in Alcanar, Tarragona, uses local ingredients from the biodiverse Ebro Delta, including citrus, rice, and seafood from the coast. At Citrus del Tancat, López has created his most personal project, earning both a Michelin star and 1 Sol Repsol in 2024.
He’ll be bringing his signature elegant, hyper-local Spanish cuisine to Barrafina Adelaide Street on the evening of 24th September, where diners can enjoy an exclusive set menu.
Set menu
The menu for our latest Barrafina Invita – is as follows:
- Aperitivos del Mediterráneo
- Roasted leek, coffee meunière, smoked mullet and coriander vinaigrette
- Organic tomatoes from Vinaròs, Mediterranean red prawn, chard and roasted tomato jus
- Preserved white asparagus, pil pil made from Garnacha lees from Terra Alta, and Reus hazelnuts
- Fried green pepper, marinated ‘El Salmorra’ peppers and salted mackerel
- Lemon tree rice with cockles and parsley
- Catalan fish stew with hake from La Ràpita
For dessert:
- Saffron and tonka bean flan, Terra Alta peach and raw almond ice cream
What is Barrafina Invita?
Barrafina Invita is a leading London food event that sees Spain’s best chefs cook a special one-night-only meal for guests at a nominated Barrafina location. The events are organised by Barrafina’s Executive Chefs, Antonio Gonzales Milla and Francisco Jose Torrico, and welcome Spanish Michelin-star chefs from many of the country’s best restaurants.
Previous guest chefs include Jordi Bross of San Sebastián’s celebrated two-Michelin-starred Mugaritz, Borja Marrero of MuXgo in Gran Canaria, and Safe Cruz of Madrid’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Gofio.

To join our exclusive London food event, book your table at the latest Barrafina Invita via SevenRooms. The experience is priced at £85 per person, which includes a Gin Mare welcome drink and set menu prepared by Aitor López.
Proceeds from this dinner are being donated to Esment, a Mallorcan charity that, since 1962, has been working to ensure that the most vulnerable groups have the opportunity to enjoy a good life. As part of this work, Esment creates sustainable, tree-filled, landscaped green spaces, which contribute to the well-being and health of the entire local population. Proceeds from Invita will contribute to this initiative.
